netTALK DUO WiFi Review & Giveaway!

We recently got a unique chance for a review and giveaway experience. We were sent the NetTalk DUO WiFi system.

Click to go directly to the website

What's that? Well, it's a small device that lets you use your home phone via your wifi or connect into your computer. With it, you can make free local and long distance telephone calls (low cost international calls)! All you need is internet, a home phone and the netTALK DUO to get started.

When I had heard of this opportunity, I jumped on it. We didn't have a house phone prior to receiving the netTALK DUO because we both have cell phones, we didn't have a need for a house phone.

Well, with Gabby in kindergarten, I wanted to teach her one phone number at a time. I'll be home working and home-schooling her sister nearly all day, so having an ICE (in case of emergency) moment where she needs to phone home, she can utilize the free number we got with our DUO.

Setting up the netTALK DUO was not the easiest. You can choose from 3 different ways to connect.

First method - via Wi-Fi.
Second method - via router (save energy by not relying on you computer to make and receive calls)
Final method - via computer (PC compatible only)

We went with the Wi-Fi method, as it seemed easiest. When you receive your DUO, inside the box is the setup guide, if you follow it step by step you should have no problems. I came across a couple, but I believe they were user errors not product functionality errors.

After you set up your netTALK DUO, you get to choose a phone number! Unfortunately for my family, nothing was available local.. so we have a Michigan phone number now. Which slightly upsets me, as I was hoping to not have to teach my daughter a bunch of different zipcodes as well as long phone numbers. But, we'll live!

Some features include:
Service INCLUDED* (each additional year is $29.95)
Wi-Fi Enabled
Free phone number OR keep your own
Live customer support
Free calls to the USA and Canada
Free calls to any netTALK customer
Ultra-love cost international calling
Call waiting/Caller I.D./ Call Forwarding
3-Way calling
Visual voicemail
411 Directory assistance
Enhanced 911 service
Conference calling
Videophone capabilities
Fax-friendly

netTALK also has a new and free Android App (works on most Android devices) that provides Free Calling throughout the US and Canada with the option to add low-cost international TALK credits to make calls from anywhere to anywhere in the world (with cell phone / WiFi service) without running up cell phone minutes or roaming charges. Great for traveling and keeping in touch with family and friends abroad! The app is available free at www.nettalk.com  and at Google Play

We really like this device, and it's been nice having a home phone again.

The netTALK DUO is available at Target stores and other major retailers.

Want one? Luckily (for one winner!) enough, we also get the chance to give one away!

That's right. You can receive a free netTALK DUO wi-fi enabled phone company in a box, with one year of service! :) Retail Value of $49.99

**Disclaimer: I received this item free for the purpose of review. I was not reimbursed monetarily for my opinion. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

  6. I currently use a competitor product but I'm really intrigued by netTALK DUO WiFi especially because of the 3-way calling feature. But I think the best feature of it is the ability to connect directly to a router; plugging it directly means I can leave it on 24/7, just like a regular phone! Even better is that it can also use WiFi which means I can put it anywhere in the house!
